Membership Types

Welcome to SHRM Jacksonville!

SHRM Jacksonville is a 100% SHRM chapter meaning all of our chapter members are National SHRM members.  To become a member of SHRM Jacksonville you must be a SHRM National member. Membership in SHRM Jacksonville is granted in one of the four following classifications. Please apply for membership at the appropriate level as this will speed approval of your application.

In addition to the membership fee, there is a onetime $25.00 application fee for new members (or a member whose membership has lapsed for more than three months).

 

Membership Types:

Professional Member*

Professional membership includes those individuals who are engaged as one ore more of the following:

       1.  Practitioners of human resources at the exempt level for at least three years.
       2.  Certified by either HR Certification Institute or SHRM.
       3.  Faculty members holding an assistant, associate or full professor rank in human resources field or any of its
            specialized functions at an accredited college or university and have at least three years of experience at this level of 
            teaching.
      4.  Full time consultants with at least three years of experience practicing in the field of human resources.
      5.  Full time attorneys with at least three years of experience in counseling and advising clients on matters relating to the
           human resource profession.

      

Associate Member*

Associate members include those Individuals in non-exempt human resource management positions as well as those individuals who do not meet the qualifications of the other classes of membership, but who demonstrate a bona fide interest in human resource management and the mission of the Chapter. Associate members may vote and hold office in the Chapter. 

 

General Member

General members include those Individuals engaged in human resource management at the exempt level, but do not meet the requirements of Professional or Associate Member.  General members cannot hold a office in the Chapter but they do have voting rights.

 

Student Member

Student members are individuals who are:

      1.  Enrolled either as a full-time or part-time student (freshman and above) and,
      2.  Enrolled in the equivalent of at least six (6) credit hours and,
      3.  Enrolled in a four-year or graduate institution and/or a consortium of these or a two-year community college with a
           matriculation agreement between it and a four-year college or university which provides automatic acceptance of the
           community college students into the four-year college or university and,
      4.  Able to provide verification of a demonstrated emphasis in human resources and,
      5.  Able to provide verification of the college or university's human resource or related degree program.

   

* Only Professional and Associate Members may hold office in the Chapter and vote on Chapter matters.

NOTE:  All applicants are approved by the Membership Director and Committee. Chapter membership is on an individual basis only and not transferable from one individual to another. Membership in other SHRM affiliated chapters is not transferable to SHRM Jacksonville. Chapter membership is contingent on the timely payment of annual dues and current membership with SHRM National.
