Meeting the IT Talent Needs Through Support of High School Internships and Programs

With the critical shortage of Information Technology (IT) personnel available or in the college pipeline, businesses are beginning to collaborate with middle and high schools to provide programs and internship opportunities to expose younger students to IT careers and encourage them to pursue training and careers in the field. Two Jacksonville business partners from Citi and Black Knight will share how their companies are providing these programs and the corporate benefits of these initiatives.

About the Speaker(s): Kathy Mignerey is the Career Program Specialist for St. Johns County School District. Kathy has 25 years of experience in teaching, coordinating and supervising Career Education Programs in Florida. Kathy is responsible for the oversight of the district’s Career Academy Summer Internship Program. She also works with business partners in a variety of ways to enable them to provide relevant knowledge and experiences to the students in related Career Academies in the school district.

Diane Williams is the HR Solutions Director for Black Knight, Inc., a mortgage technology company and has more than 20 years of experience in the HR profession. Diane’s leadership and expertise have transformed Black Knight’s employee programs, linking talent development to business strategy. Diane is responsible for developing and managing Black Knight’s Intern Program, Mentor Program, and Women in IT Program, to name a few. Diane also facilitates many of Black Knight’s leadership development training such as FranklinCovey’s Speed of Trust and John Maxwell’s 5 Levels of Leadership.

Rebecca Callahan heads Global Consumer Technology and Executive Recruiting for Citi. Responsible for Citi’s Technology’s talent pipelines globally, she is passionate about workforce development and fostering local and global partnership’s to build the workforce of the future. In her seven years with Citi she has partnered to initiate Citi’s Military Leadership Development Program, Citi’s Girls in Technology Program that reaches over 15,000 girls in the US annually and Citi’s Tech Academies in local schools to promote Tech workforce development in Citi’s HUB locations. She currently sits on the IT Council Advisory Board for St Johns County Schools.
