Program Description

This webinar helps participants adjust to the many changes that come with working
from home by looking at it through the lens of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and Behavioral Style
(DISC). We review stress components of working from home including:

  • Emotional vs. Functional Challenges
  • Communication Issues and Solutions
    • Communication Skills
    • Identifying and responding to different communication styles
    • Sharing your needs in a positive way

By developing self-awareness, each person is able to recognize where a negative attitude may
come from, and how to utilize self-awareness to reduce friction in themselves and in their
interactions with others.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Identify whether their primary work from home challenges are emotional or functional
  • Give examples of good communication skills
  • Recognize their behavioral communication style
  • State at least one way they can use self-awareness to help minimize internal and external

Certification Information:

This activity has been submitted for one (1) Professional Development Credit (PDC) by SHRM and one (1) HR (General) credit with the HR Certification Institute. Please note that SHRM and HRCI pre-approved credits will only be administered to those who complete the 2-part registration process.

During each SHRM Jacksonville sponsored online event, for each raffle "ticket" sold to event attendees, their name will be entered into a drawing. The winner of the drawing will receive 50% of the proceeds in the form of an electronic gift card. The remaining proceeds are donated to the SHRM Foundation. For in-person events only, 25% of proceeds are given to a local SHRM Student Chapter featured on the day of the event.
