 Medical Marijuana  Presenter

 Dealing with the Hazy Issue of Marijuana in the Workplace 

As if changes in the employment laws weren’t enough, leaders are now dealing with differing state laws as marijuana legalization becomes widespread across the US.  Between medical and recreational marijuana, employers are finding themselves asking what they can prohibit and what is legally protected activity. 

As leaders, we need to consider multiple aspects of the situation and determine the best course forward. Even as medical marijuana is now legal in Florida, many of the specifics have yet to be clearly defined by legislative bodies, regulatory agencies, or the courts. 

We will look at the impact of medical and recreational marijuana on Drug-Free Workplace policies, the American’s with Disability Act, federal contractors, workers covered under DOT regulations and more.
