The Jacksonville SHRM chapter is pleased to announce our Annual Scholarship Program - up to $3,000 in scholarships will be awarded in 2008! The $3,000 worth of prizes will be divided amongst scholarships for college programs, certification courses and new for 2008 a diversity scholarship! The best part is that you can win more than one scholarship!!!

As part of its mission to promote professional development and to raise the standard of performance in human resources management, the chapter is offering chapter members, students studying Human Resources and dependents of SHRM Jacksonville members the opportunity to apply. To qualify for consideration, applicants must be:

• Working full-time in human resources and a member of SHRM-Jacksonville; or,
• If in transition, directly seeking human resource position and a member of SHRM-Jacksonville; or
• A current college student seeking to take special courses to supplement human resources knowledge and education; or
• A current college student and dependent of a member of SHRM-Jacksonville.

Individuals applying for the certification scholarship must be working towards certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR), a Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) or a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). Scholarship funds may be used to attend a certification preparation seminar at University of North Florida of Florida Community College Jacksonville. The awardees must take the certification test during the test period for which they applied for the scholarship or no later than the next test period.
