In the wake of recent events in Charlottesville, Virginia, where do we stand as leaders during these divisive times? As Human Resources leaders, we are called to service to create organizational cultures that promote diversity and inclusion. We sit in seats where we have the responsibility to demonstrate a 365+ day commitment to inclusion. In this session, we will address 10 Essential Steps required for improving your IQ (Inclusion Quotient) and Return on Investment (ROI) during times like this.

In the wake of recent events in Charlottesville, Virginia, where do we stand as leaders during these divisive times? While we may not attend demonstrations or marches, as Human Resources leaders, we are called to service to create organizational cultures that promote diversity and inclusion. We sit in seats where we have the responsibility to demonstrate a 365+ day commitment to inclusion. Beyond reacting to change, we can shape change! In this session, we will address 10 Essential Steps required for improving your IQ (Inclusion Quotient) and Return on Investment (ROI) during times like this.

 

Learning Objectives:

  • To improve our IQ (Inclusion Quotient) to help us create cultures of Inclusion.
  • To understand the consequence of silence in creating an inclusive work environment and how it impacts our ROI.
  • To learn practical steps leaders can implement to create a culture of inclusion.                       

 

Certification Information:

    This activity has been submitted for one (1) Professional Development Credit (PDC) by SHRM and one (1) HR (General) credit with the HR Certification Institute.

           
 
 

About the Speaker

AUTHOR, TRAINER, MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER, COACH, MENTOR AND HUMAN RESOURCES EXECUTIVE

Innovative and transformational change leader with a demonstrated record of translating strategy into results, maximizing organizational effectiveness and challenging the culture to examine barriers to inclusion and high performance are trademarks of Stacey Lawson’s career. She is a seasoned Human Resources executive and is credited with having spearheading a comprehensive strategic diversity initiative, increasing employee engagement, and developing and leading talent development initiatives resulting in marked organizational and team performance.

She inspires people to lead with heart while also driving for excellence. Stacey has established a brand of leadership that cultivates continuous growth, development, and shares the insight from her experiences and lessons learned to elevate others’ potential. Her personal life mission and purpose is to increase others.

She was most recently recognized as a 2014 Woman of Influence as well as a previous Outstanding African American Alumni from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio where she also earned both her B.S., in Human Resources Management and her M.S., in Business & Industrial Management Counseling. She received acknowledgement for her contributions to social justice, equality, and inclusion by the Ohio Diversity Conference as a DiversityFirsts and received the Rainbow Award for her community efforts in promoting racial harmony and reconciliation. In 2002, she was recognized as one of Dayton’s Top 40 Under 40. She is the author of two books and is currently working on her third book which provides Inflight Flight Essentials for navigating your career success through the unwritten rules in the workplace.

She has more than 20+ years of increasing leadership expertise and experience with increasing scope and responsibility and is known for her creativity, drive, commitment to excellence, and ability to challenge the status quo. In addition to her day job, outside of work, she is a coach at heart in service to others and provides coaching and development through her company Inflight.

Her greatest accomplishment is learning to listen. Her biggest mistake is not listening. Her goal is to become less of who she shouldn’t be and more of who she should be.
